Green Mortgages
A green mortgage is a mortgage which offers a lower fixed rate of interest to individuals who are buying, building, or moving to a more energy efficient property which is going to be their family home.
In normal course, to qualify for a green mortgage, the property will need to have a Building Energy Rating (BER) of A1 to B3.
The term of the green fixed interest rate will vary across the institutions which offer it; but in normal course, it is of a 4 or 5 year fixed duration.
