State Pension (Non-Contributory)
The State Pension (Non-Contributory) is a means-tested payment for those who don’t qualify for a contributory pension due to insufficient PRSI contribution or if they qualify for a reduced rate of State Pension.
Eligibility:
- Be aged 66 or over
- Satisfy a means test
- Be legally and habitually resident in the State
Rates of payment:
Your rate of payment will depend on the outcome of your means test. The maximum weekly rate if you have income from no other source is:
- €254 if you are aged >66 but <80
- €264 if you are aged 80 or >80
